TGS 2012: New PS3 Slimmer Slim
Well, the rumors were true. Sony did in fact have a brand new version of the PlayStation 3 to reveal to the world. And boy, is it small!
The new slimmer PlayStation 3 will be available in two different forms; a 250GB or a 500GB HDD. The new systems are 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the already light and smaller PlayStation 3. The other major physical change is that now the discs will actually be loaded from the top. The section that has the PS3 logo actually slides to the left to reveal the top-loading disc area.
To help reveal the new system to the world, which will be launching on September 25th; a bundle with the new PlayStation 3 will be available. The bundle will combine the new PlayStation 3 (250GB) along with Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception: Game of the Year Edition along with a voucher for over $30 worth of extra digital content for Dust 514. The bundle will go on sale on September 25th for $269.99 which gives you a combined value of $70 for purchasing this bundle.
Another bundle that will be available on October 30th that will also feature the new PlayStation 3 will include the new game from Ubisoft, Assassin’s Creed III.
